The Glacier Point Hotel was a historic chalet style hotel built on the grounds of Glacier Point. Built 3,274 feet above the valley floor, it provided magnificent views of Half Dome and the surrounding Yosemite Valley. Both housing units were constructed between 1916 to 1917 by the The Desmond Park Service Company and Gutleben Brothers contracting firm. In 1924, the hotel's ownership was transferred to the Yosemite Park & Curry Company as it had proved a large financial burden for its previous owners.
