The mission of the nonprofit Monterey Bay Aquarium is to inspire conservation of the oceans. The aquarium benefits from a circulation of fresh ocean water which is obtained through pipes which pump it in continuously from Monterey Bay (Pacific Ocean). Just read, look and learn everything about the ocean ecosystem. Definitely worth a visit.
