La Academia Partnership Charter School

La Academia Charter School is located at 30 N. Ann Street Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The school requires common dress and currently has an enrollment of over 190 students grades 6–12. The school began as The Partnership Charter School in 1998 with the help of several local community organizations that partnered together to get to the school its first charter. The organizations included: SACA (Spanish American Civic Association), Neighborhood Services, the Urban League, Crispus Attucks, Community Action Programs. At the current time only SACA has remained a partner. The school offers an individualized small class focus for students in any school district in Lancaster County. Students who are eligible can also receive dual-enrollment credit with Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) or Thaddeus Stevens of Technology. The class of 2012 and 2013 are attending or have been accepted to Elizabethtown College (Dean's Scholarship), Kutztown University, Millersville University and Shippensburg University, Harrisburg Community College and Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology. La Academia as a district made its Annual Yearly Progress (AYP) in September 2012 and now is "Making Progress". The school will enter a second year with the new STEM (Science, Engineering, Engineering and Math) program through Project Lead the Way and will also boost the Heritage Spanish program for all grades 6-12. Several renovations projects to update the facility are planned to be completed by the start of the 2013-14 school year.
