Wilmore is a home rule-class city in Jessamine County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 6,969 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Lexington–Fayette Metropolitan Statistical Area. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.6 square miles , all of it land.
A post office called "Wilmore" was established in 1877. It was named for John R. Wilmore, a local landowner and former slave owner.
