Routes and places linked to the Via Domitia. The Via Domitia was the first road that was built in Gaul. The job was completed in 118 BC. By the proclaimed Gnaeus Domitius Ahenobarbus, along with the first Roman colony in Gaul, today's Narbonne. The road was a strategically important connection. The road linked Italy with Spain. The track crossed the Via Aquitania, which led to the Atlantic Ocean, in Narbonne.
