This group lists eight (8) kayak tracks along the Khwae Noi River originating near the border with Myanmar. It begins at the confluence of Ranti, Songkalia and Bikhli Rivers. At Kanchanaburi it merges with the Khwae Yai River to form the Mae Klong, which empties into the Gulf of Thailand at Samut Songkhram. The former Thailand - Burma railway, also called the Death Railway, follows the Khwae Noi Valley. The kayak project starts at Thong Pha Phum and ends at the confluence with the Mae Klong at Kanchanaburi.
Ayutthaya Kayaking Experience [AKE] is a sporting branch of Ayutthaya Historical Research [AHR]. AKE’s objective is to promote kayaking tourism in Ayutthaya, by having a kayak presence on canals and rivers.
Kayaking is the perfect outdoor recreation to explore the city island contours and its surroundings. Any visitor to Ayutthaya - with some kayaking experience or enough sportive stamina - interested in kayaking with AKE is welcome. More information can be found at the AKE’s website: http://AyKaEx.yolasite.com.
