This is one of the most popular beaches throughout Galicia. During the summer many tourists go to visit. It is also a very extensive beach, is 2.5 kilometers long, more than 3 taking into account the areas adjacent sections BBW and Lapa.
It is surrounded by a beautifully preserved natural environment of dunes belonging to the Natura 2000 network.
This beach also practice sports such as surfing and windsurfing as it has a big swell, since it is not located in any estuary, open ocean. Located near the beginning of the Ria de Pontevedra and the north end of the isthmus bordering the mouth of the Ria de Arosa. Kitesurfing is also practiced, due to it being an open beach can get quite windy. Currently, the dune area is a protected ecosystem.
