The Museum of Sacred Art of the Monastery of Santa Clara de Asís (inaugurated in May 2013) is the only one in the Canary Islands located in an active monastery .
Established with the monastery's own resources and assets, the museum is divided into seven rooms that reflect the past and present of monastic life .
The first room is that of the Immaculate Conception (Regina Coeli) starring the Virgin and especially the Immaculate Conception, venerated by the Order of San Francisco.
The second room is called the Seraphic Order and offers a tour of the saints of the Order , as well as the nuns who died in the scent of holiness.
The third is the Who Like God room, the cry of power of Saint Michelangelo, the protector of the Order. Likewise, it also recognizes the Monastery of San Miguel de las Victorias (where they remained until their current monastery was built). It has collections of nativity scenes and wise men, among other things.
The fourth room is the Corpus Christi room and contains much of the gold and silver elements used in the Eucharist.
The fifth is that of the Redemption , and there is a collection of paintings of the Christ of La Laguna.
Room number six , De Profundis, shows the silver altar that presides over the monastery church during special festivities , and is a good example of the tradition acquired by the goldsmith workshops of La Laguna from the 18th century.
And number seven is the Projections, in which a video showing the history of the monastery is projected, and there is a world map with all the Poor Clare monasteries that exist in the world.
All this together with three patios and four cloisters that can also be visited.
