The garden was created in 1905 by architect Germain Sauvanet. He opted for a balance between an ambulatory with a variety of species and a formal garden. The site boasts a wide variety of impressively sized trees. The cleanliness of the "annuals" beds makes for a languorous stroll through the many paths.
Other highlights include the magnificent statue of a kneeling woman by Marthe Baumel-Schwenck, which adorns the fountain in front of the museum, and the small rockwork bridge gracefully spanning the pond.
