In addition to the pieces coming from the archaeological sites of the Chauvinois region (the ancient site of Gué-de-Sciaux, Saint-Pierre-les-Églises, the medieval city, ...), a large part of the objects presented are the result of donations made to the museum by the local population and constitute the originality of the ethnographic collections (headdresses and costumes, minnow carafes, tools of disappeared trades, art furniture, etc.)
A series of models illustrates the urban and rural evolution of Chauvigny from the Neolithic period to the present day.
