In 2011, Google stopped taking Street View images in Germany because German authorities had privacy concerns. Google went to work addressing those concerns. In addition to standard blurring of license plates and people, there is now also the option for businesses and consumers to have certain images blurred. After consultation and coordination, Google finally got the green light before summer to travel Germany with their camera cars. The country will thus be imaged and put on the Google Street View map.
