The trail is 3 km long and starts and ends at the trail center at Rytterknægten. It goes through both open areas and dense forest. Along the way, you will pass through Orkanskoven, a forest area that was devastated by a hurricane in 1967. After the hurricane, the area was left untouched so that one could observe how a tornado-stricken forest area develops without human intervention. Here, you can see, among other things, how uprooted but living beech trees continue to grow.
The trail runs almost exclusively on pathways. However, it is not particularly hilly by Bornholm's standards.
The central part of the route runs parallel to the hiking route Skovsøstien. You can extend your trip by following Skovsøstien to the Arboretum.
