El Akademisches Gymnasium Graz es una de las escuelas más antiguas en el ámbito de habla alemana, la escuela secundaria más antigua de Estiria y, después de los Akademischen Gymnasien de Linz, Viena e Innsbruck, la cuarta más antigua de las cinco Akademischen Gymnasien en Austria. La escuela fue fundada el 12 de noviembre de 1573 en el contexto de la Contrarreforma como un colegio jesuita en Graz.
