El Ötztal es un valle lateral del Inndal que desemboca en este entre Haiming y Roppen. Se encuentra en el distrito de Imst en el estado austríaco de Tirol. El río Ötz, también conocido como Ötztaler Ache, fluye a través del valle.
El Ötztal se extiende de norte a sur y con sus 65 km de longitud es el valle lateral más largo del Inndal. El valle separa los Alpes de Stubaier al este de los Alpes de Ötztal al oeste. El nombre de Ötztal se originó después de que Oetz fue designada como tribunal de ayuda del valle. Aproximadamente 45 km al oeste de Innsbruck, el Ötztaler Ache desemboca a una altura de 670 m sobre el nivel del mar en el Inn, en un paisaje de avalanchas de montaña de Tschirgant entre Haiming y Roppen. La parte del pueblo Ötztal-Bahnhof del municipio de Haiming se formó con la construcción de la línea ferroviaria de Arlberg y constituye la entrada del valle.
