Milagro rescatado Cuando Franz-Georg von Metternich-Ochsenhausen vendió el castillo de Reinhardstein en 1812, parecía que su destino estaba sellado. Desde entonces, el castillo fue utilizado como cantera. Lo que quedó de la construcción 150 años después entusiasmó al profesor Overloop. El erudito hizo restaurar la ruina a partir de 1970, piedra por piedra. Como modelo, utilizó construcciones comparables en la cercana Eifel. Hoy, el castillo de Reinhardstein se alza nuevamente tan orgulloso como en su época de esplendor en el espolón rocoso. En el interior del castillo se encuentra una notable colección de muebles, armas y tapices que se puede visitar.
