Un beguinaje, una iglesia gótica brabantina construida en el siglo XIV y una antigua cripta romana: solo como centro religioso la comunidad encuentra cierta coherencia urbana a partir del siglo XI, especialmente bajo la protección de San Guido, que se encuentra en el escudo de armas de la comunidad. En la misma zona también se encontraron huellas de Erasmus. Este filósofo humanista llegó a Anderlecht en el siglo XVI, y la 'Casa de Erasmus' (abierta a visitantes) es la mejor prueba de ello. En el corazón de Anderlecht hay muy poco verde. Con un par de pedaladas ya te encuentras en la parte más urbana de nuestro recorrido. Solo cuando regreses al canal, la mayor influencia en los edificios de esta zona, volverás a ver más verde.
