Hasta 2019, podías ver regularmente al artista Panamarenko y su esposa Eveline Hoorens caminando por los alrededores de Sint-Maria-Oudenhove. En este hermoso pueblo vivieron juntos durante años. Panamarenko falleció aquí el 14/12/2019. En una columna leída en voz alta por su viuda Eveline Hoorens, ella le rindió un homenaje. Allí también contó que la divertida canción "Shame and Scandal in the Family" de Shwan Elliott era su número favorito que escuchaban mientras caminaban juntos en esta hermosa región.
