Sint-Idesbald es una aldea en Koksijde, situada en la Costa Flamenca, más concretamente en la Costa Oeste. La localidad costera se llamó originalmente Zeepanne-Baden, pero más tarde fue nombrada en honor al beato Idesbald, el tercer abad de la abadía de los cistercienses, Nuestra Señora de las Dunas.
En el habla popular se llama al pueblo Baaltje. Es un pueblo de artistas, el "Latem en el mar", con algunos museos, siendo el de Paul Delvaux, el famoso pintor surrealista mundial, el más conocido. En ninguna parte del mundo se pueden encontrar tantas obras de él, incluidas algunas obras maestras.
Además, en los últimos años la localidad costera ha experimentado un enorme crecimiento en el ámbito turístico y numerosas villas en ruinas están siendo restauradas o reemplazadas por apartamentos de lujo pintados de blanco con tejas rojas. Por lo tanto, a veces también se le llama el "Zoute" de la Costa Oeste.
