La antigua Casa de los Telares es una joya de la arquitectura medieval flamenca que fue construida en el marco elegante de la Gran Plaza. Especialmente durante los meses de verano, cuando la Casa Consistorial está adornada con las once banderas heráldicas y decorada con coloridos ramos de flores, forma una vista espectacular.
El campanario, que fue protegido por la UNESCO en 1999 como Patrimonio de la Humanidad, alberga desde el siglo XVI un carillón. Este carillón, que fue recientemente restaurado, cuenta con 49 campanas con un peso total de 6,800 kg. Así, Dendermonde posee un llamado carillón completo según el estándar de Mechelen.
En la Casa Consistorial, el visitante puede conocer el impresionante interior y las numerosas pinturas de la 'escuela de pintura de Dendermonde'. Con el trabajo de pintores, escultores y ceramistas contemporáneos podemos familiarizarnos en el Centro Administrativo y el centro cultural Belgica.
