L'ancienne Halle aux Draps est un joyau de l'architecture médiévale flamande érigé dans le cadre gracieux de la Grand-Place. Surtout pendant les mois d'été, lorsque l'Hôtel de Ville est orné des onze drapeaux héraldiques et décoré de bouquets de fleurs colorés, cela constitue un magnifique spectacle.
Le Beffroi, qui a été protégé par l'UNESCO en 1999 en tant que Patrimoine Mondial, abrite depuis le 16e siècle un carillon. Ce carillon, récemment restauré, compte 49 cloches avec un poids total de 6 800 kg. Dendermonde possède ainsi un carillon complet selon la norme malinoise.
À l'Hôtel de Ville, le visiteur peut découvrir le magnifique intérieur et les nombreuses peintures de l'école des peintres de Dendermonde. Nous pouvons découvrir le travail d'artistes contemporains, sculpteurs et céramistes au Centre Administratif et au centre culturel Belgica.
