Esta es una ruta de senderismo con un fuerte enfoque histórico. Cuando la Segunda Guerra Mundial comenzó a asomar en el horizonte, el ejército belga construyó un cinturón de defensa alrededor de la estratégica ciudad de Gante. En las cimas de las colinas cerca de Oosterzele, a un tiro de piedra de Gante, se erigieron decenas de bunkers fortificados que debían proteger la ciudad de Artevelde. La mayoría aún se encuentran allí, desentonando en el entorno rural. A través de numerosos caminos rurales y senderillos, visitamos una gran cantidad de ellos. El resultado es una hermosa caminata en un decorado verde.
