Ceci est un sentier de randonnée avec une forte connotation historique. Lorsque la Seconde Guerre mondiale a commencé à poindre à l'horizon, l'armée belge a construit une ceinture de défense autour de la ville stratégiquement importante de Gand. Sur les sommets des collines près d'Oosterzele, à un jet de pierre de Gand, des dizaines de bunkers renforcés ont vu le jour pour protéger la ville d'Artevelde. La plupart d'entre eux sont encore là, isolés dans le paysage rural. À travers de nombreux chemins de campagne et sentiers, nous en visitons un grand nombre. Le résultat est une superbe promenade dans un décor verdoyant.
