Oignies-en-Thiérache es un lugar cerca de la frontera francesa en la provincia de Namur. Desde la fusión municipal en 1977, es una parte de la comuna belga de Viroinval. Tiene aproximadamente 800 habitantes. El pueblo se encuentra en el gran bosque del parque natural Viroin-Hermeton de 12.000 ha con muchos senderos para caminar. Hay un bien equipado parque de mountainboard Wanyi. La infraestructura turística se limita a un parque vacacional de alrededor de ochenta chalets, algunas casas de vacaciones individuales y un pequeño camping.
