El Hantes es un pequeño río en el suroeste de la provincia de Henao. Nace en Froidchapelle, cruza brevemente la frontera francesa y finalmente desemboca en el Labuissière belga en el Sambre. A lo largo de su curso hay varios lugares interesantes. La ciudad más importante es, sin duda, Beaumont, que como su nombre indica, se encuentra en una colina de 70 m sobre el Hantes.
Donde el Hantes vuelve a entrar en Bélgica, pasa bajo el Puente Romano de 13 arcos en Montignies-Saint-Christophe. Este puente, cuya origen romana a veces es cuestionada, está cerca de la antigua vía romana Bavay-Trier. Forma un conjunto magnífico con la cercana Ferme du Moulin.
