Vosselare es una aldea en la provincia belga de Flandes Oriental y es una subunidad de Deinze. La aldea se encuentra a orillas del Canal Schipdonk y limita con Nevele, cuyo centro de la aldea se encuentra al otro lado del canal. El nombre se mencionó por primera vez en 694 en un anuario de la Abadía de San Pedro de Gante, y nuevamente en 802. Más tarde, la aldea se menciona como 'Voslariensis ecclesiae', Vurslar, Vorselar, Furselare, Vurselaer, Vorselaer, Vursselare, Vorslaer, Vurselare y Vosselare por primera vez en 1650. Se atribuyen diferentes significados al nombre. Probablemente, el nombre proviene de 'Vurst' y 'Laar' y significa 'un lugar abierto, vacío o desolado en un bosque'. También puede significar 'un terreno no edificado cubierto de espinos'.
