Zandvoorde es una aldea en la provincia belga de Flandes Occidental. Era un municipio independiente hasta que se fusionó el 1 de enero de 1971 con Ostende. La aldea se encuentra en De Polders, a más de tres kilómetros al sureste del centro de la ciudad de Ostende. El nombre Zandvoorde se compone de términos antiguos "sand" y "furdu", que significa un lugar arenoso y vadeable, un vado. En la Edad Media había pocas reglas de ortografía, por lo que en documentos antiguos se encuentran diversas formas de escritura del nombre del lugar:
