Weert es una aldea en la provincia belga de Amberes y una submunicipalidad de Bornem. Weert fue un municipio independiente hasta la reorganización municipal de 1977. Weert fue mencionada por primera vez en 1240. En ese momento, fue vendida por Walter van den Coudenborch a la abadía de San Bavón en Gante con el objetivo de ser desarrolada. En 1320, la creación de diques estaba completa y Weert pertenecía administrativa y eclesiásticamente a Temse. Originalmente, se encontraba en la orilla izquierda del río Escalda, pero alrededor de 1240, el cauce del Escalda se desvió y Weert pasó a estar situada en la orilla derecha.
