El hospital Sint-Andries es un hospital regional de tamaño mediano, situado en el borde (junto a Ringlaan) del centro de Tielt en la provincia de Flandes Occidental. El distrito de Tielt cuenta con aproximadamente 88,192 habitantes.
El área de atención o hinterland se extiende por 10 municipios. Con esto, el hospital atiende a una población de aproximadamente 105,000 habitantes, ya que también se ingresan muchos pacientes de Flandes Oriental, por ejemplo, del 20 al 25% de Aalter (según las últimas cifras disponibles del Ministerio de Salud Pública).
El hospital se encuentra en una zona rural con la infraestructura hospitalaria más baja (sin sobreoferta) de toda la provincia de Flandes Occidental, la menor consumo especializado y una atención primaria de salud activa.
