El Mechels Broek es un hogar para muchas aves acuáticas: Pato Silvestre, Pato Cucharón, Pato Bobo, Pato de Cueva, Pato Flecha, Pato Dátil, Pato de Mesa, Pato de Invierno y Límite. Esta última es una especie emblemática para la zona. Se pueden observar zancudas grandes y pequeñas desde la torre de observación.
