Mariekerke es una aldea en la provincia belga de Amberes y una parte del municipio de Bornem. Mariekerke fue un municipio independiente hasta la reorganización municipal de 1977. Mariekerke ya existía en 1228 como uno de los cuatro pueblos principales del dominio de Baasrode bajo el nombre de O.L.V. Baserode Sinte-Marie y formaba parte del País de Dendermonde. También tenía en esa época dos lugares de atraco conocidos en el Escalda, a saber, "Het Leg" y "Berdonk". Más tarde formó parte del País de Bornem. En ese momento, una franja de la orilla del Escalda entre Branst y Weert también pertenecía al territorio. A partir del siglo XVI, Mariekerke tenía su propio sacerdote.
