Bazel es una aldea en Bélgica. Desde 1977 es una parte del municipio fusionado de Kruibeke, en el este de Waasland. El 1 de enero de 2008, Bazel tenía 5242 habitantes.
En general, se considera, según la autoridad del local historiador Alois Maris, que el origen del nombre Bazel, o más concretamente la antigua denominación Barsela, es una combinación de las palabras francas baar = desnudo o salvaje, y sele o sela = vivienda. También se puede comparar con las aldeas belgas Beerzel y Beersel. Barsela evolucionó a través de Baersele y Baersel hasta Baesel, Basel y Bazel. Los señores de Barsela habitaban el Castillo Wissekerke en Bazel.
