Bazel è un paese in Belgio. È dal 1977 una frazione del comune fusione di Kruibeke, situato a est del Waasland. Il 1 gennaio 2008, Bazel contava 5242 abitanti.
In generale, su autorità dello storico locale Alois Maris, si ritiene che l'origine del nome Bazel, o più precisamente la vecchia denominazione Barsela, sia una fusione delle parole francesi baar = nudo o desolato, e sele o sela = casa. Si confronti anche con i villaggi belgi Beerzel e Beersel. Barsela si è evoluta in Baersele e Baersel fino a Baesel, Basel e Bazel. I signori di Barsela abitavano il Castello Wissekerke a Bazel.
