EL ANTIGUO AYUNTAMIENTO DE POELKAPELLE - UNA PEQUEÑA HISTORIA
El antiguo ayuntamiento de Poelkapelle fue durante años un símbolo de la lucha de una Poelkapelle independiente. El municipio de Guynemer era un municipio independiente en 1904. A finales de los años sesenta se discutieron las fusiones. El comité de defensa mantuvo su estatus de forma independiente en 1969. En 1977 se fusionó con Langemark (denominado la comunidad de Bakelandt). El ayuntamiento local fue durante mucho tiempo un punto de recolección para los habitantes de Poelkapelle. Poco a poco, esto se fue eliminando. A principios de 2010 se vendió en una subasta pública.
Stijn Vercruysse y Nele Tryssesoone compraron el edificio y comenzaron la reconstrucción. Después de un año y medio de trabajo de renovación y remodelación, a principios de agosto de 2011 "el antiguo ayuntamiento de Poelkapelle" fue (re)nacido. Hoy en día, cuenta con una panadería, una casa de té y un Bed and Breakfast con una capacidad total de 24 camas, distribuidas en 6 habitaciones.
