Frente al Museo Pater Damiaan se encuentra la entrada del área natural Het Zegbroek. Het Zegbroek es un antiguo meandro húmedo y pantanoso del Demer. Natuurpunt Tremelo gestiona en la zona una variedad de biotopos que van desde praderas hasta cañaverales, turberas y bosques. Esta variación lo convierte en un paraíso no solo de helechos y juncos, sino de muchas especies de plantas.
