El aeropuerto cuenta con una pista asfaltada de 799 metros de longitud y una pista de hierba de 655 metros. Es la base de un club de pilotos de planeadores, pilotos de vuelo motorizado, modelistas y paracaidistas. Las colinas mineras que se encuentran justo al lado del aeropuerto son puntos de referencia para ellos. El propietario del aeropuerto es 'Koninklijke Aeroclub Limburgse Vleugels vzw', un club aéreo donde pueden acudir tanto pilotos de planeadores, como pilotos de vuelo motorizado y modelistas. La aeroclub también es una verdadera escuela de vuelo, donde se puede obtener la licencia de piloto de motor [PPL] y/o la licencia de piloto de planeador [SPL]. También se pueden realizar diversos cursos de formación continua, como el MEP, una formación que se aprende para pilotar aviones con múltiples motores de pistón.
