Está situado a lo largo de la carretera Retie-Kasterlee y fue construido en 1906 en estilo neogótico según un diseño del arquitecto de Lovaina Langerock por encargo de François du Four, que en aquel entonces era el alcalde de Turnhout y propietario de la imprenta Brepols. Durante los meses de verano, el castillo servía como residencia de vacaciones para la familia Du Four, y en invierno se organizaban cacerías. El hermoso parque de 30 hectáreas en estilo paisajístico inglés fue diseñado por el paisajista bruselense Jules Buyssens.
