Le Thier Bosset está situado a la izquierda del Amblève, donde domina la pequeña ciudad de Aywaille desde una altura de 200 m. Perteneciente a la calcárea Famenne (también conocida como "Calestienne"), esta colina reposa sobre calizas francas que afloran en varios lugares. Es mucho menos prestigiosa que la Heid des Gattes, que se encuentra en el lado opuesto del valle, pero la ubicación, en su mayor parte boscosa, ofrece varios aspectos interesantes, especialmente en el ámbito de la biodiversidad. Existen hábitats sensibles, incluyendo praderas calcáreas y bordes termófilos ricos en arbustos como el cerezo de Santa Lucía (Prunus mahaleb) y el sorbus (Sorbus aria). Clasificado como un área de gran interés biológico en el marco del plan de desarrollo natural municipal de Aywaille, los hábitats más notables de Thier Bosset son gestionados por Ardenne & Gaume, una asociación muy activa en la protección del patrimonio natural regional.
