Arne Quinze desarrolló para la ciudad de Ostende un conjunto de esculturas llamado Rock Strangers. Objetos extraños que aparecen en lugares donde menos se les espera, como en la renovada Plaza de los Héroes del Mar, el punto de encuentro de la ciudad. Parecen haber llegado a la orilla. Por su color naranja brillante, contrastan marcadamente con su entorno natural y tienen un efecto desconcertante. Sus Rock Strangers forman un acento colorido en un entorno urbano, en su mayoría bastante neutro. Con esta inmensa instalación de metal, Quinze quiere contrarrestar la creciente homogeneidad en el urbanismo. También busca penetrar la segura cúpula que las personas construyen a su alrededor en la ciudad. Elementos extraños aparecen y contribuyen a la multi-sociedad.
