El ayuntamiento de Spa se construyó entre 1762 y 1768.
Este edificio de bello estilo Luis XVI es obra del arquitecto Digneffe. En el siglo XVIII recibió a los industriales que venían a comercializar el agua de manantial . En 1822, este Grand Hotel pasó a ser propiedad de John Cockerill , quien lo convirtió en una fábrica de máquinas cardadoras (cardar es el acto de separar las fibras de la lana).
Hoy este edificio alberga el ayuntamiento.
