L'ajuntament de Spa va ser construït entre 1762 i 1768.
Aquest edifici d' estil Lluís XVI és obra de l'arquitecte Digneffe. Al segle XVIII va rebre els industrials que van venir a comercialitzar l'aigua de font . El 1822, aquest Gran Hotel va passar a ser propietat de John Cockerill , que el va convertir en una fàbrica de màquines de cardar (el cardar és l'acte de separar les fibres de la llana).
Actualment aquest edifici acull l'ajuntament.
