Salimos del valle de Vuylbeek y giramos a la derecha para cruzar nuevamente la Tweebergenweg después de unos cientos de metros y avanzar hacia el valle de Wollenborre. Aquí volvemos a caminar por una catedral de hayas. El sendero serpentea a través del bosque de hayas hasta llegar finalmente al estanque de Hoefijzer. Disfruta aquí de la caminata, con un paisaje muy variado. También presta atención a las cantidades y tamaños de los árboles muertos, caídos o tumbados en el suelo. Estos son mini-ecosistemas y excepcionalmente importantes para la biodiversidad.
