Esta zona de picnic está situada en el arroyo Magdalena a lo largo de Groene 62 .
La línea 62 o línea verde 62 es la antigua línea de ferrocarril de 22 kilómetros que unía Ostende y Torhout. La línea tenía el número 62 y hoy es un espacio natural, para paseos a pie y en bicicleta. Una empresa privada construyó una línea ferroviaria única entre Ostende y Armentières a mediados del siglo XIX para que los parisinos pudieran viajar a la emergente ciudad balnearia de Ostende por esa ruta.
La ruta atraviesa, entre otros lugares, la zona de los arroyos de Oostende en los polders medievales. Esta llanura costera se encuentra hasta 5 metros por debajo del nivel del mar.
