El nombre "Anzie Seppe" hace referencia a un personaje típico del pueblo y a un apodo de Basilea que se usaba popularmente para designar a un niño travieso y juguetón, el tipo de pícaro que todos conocíamos en nuestra juventud.
La escultura de bronce de un niño chiro que silbaba y marchaba , vivaz y lleno de movimiento: un símbolo brillante de juventud y entusiasmo en el corazón de Basilea.
La estatua es de Frieda Mariën , nacida en Malinas el 29 de mayo de 1938.
