A solo unos pasos del famoso punto de cruce entre las dos Berlines, el Museo del Muro – Casa en Checkpoint Charlie cuenta la historia del muro y, aún más emocionante, las historias de aquellos que huyeron a través, por debajo y sobre él. Este museo hecho a mano ofrece una visión general de los eventos que llevaron a la construcción del muro y muestra con herramientas y equipos originales, así como grabaciones y fotografías, cómo los alemanes del Este se escaparon hacia el Oeste (una de las invenciones más ingeniosas fue un mini-submarino). Las exposiciones sobre los derechos humanos y las pinturas que interpretan el muro completan la experiencia. Venga temprano o tarde en el día para evitar las multitudes que son dejadas por los autobuses turísticos. Los lunes pueden estar especialmente abarrotados.
