El Westenhellweg es una parte de la calle comercial central en el casco antiguo de Dortmund. Se encuentra frente a la Kampstraße, que actualmente se está transformando en una zona peatonal.
El Westenhellweg sigue la antigua ruta medieval de tropas y comercio, Hellweg, que ya fue utilizada por Carlomagno. Junto con el Ostenhellweg, forma el recorrido del antiguo camino dentro de las murallas históricas del Dortmund medieval. Ubicado en el corazón del centro de la ciudad, según un estudio de Jones Lang LaSalle de 2018, el Westenhellweg, con 10.180 visitantes por hora en horas pico, se encuentra entre las 10 calles comerciales más visitadas de Alemania. Los altos precios de alquiler y el pleno alquiler de superficies comerciales sin vacantes indican la importancia del Westenhellweg como calle comercial de gran relevancia regional.
