El Hespertalbahn es un ferrocarril histórico de vía estándar con operación de locomotoras de vapor cerca del Hesperbach entre la antigua estación de Kupferdreh y la Casa Scheppen en el Baldeneysee en Essen.
Como ferrocarril de vía estrecha con tracción a caballo, se abrió a minas de mineral a partir de 1857, más tarde la mina Pörtingsiepen. La conversión de parte de las vías a vía estándar se llevó a cabo de 1877 a Hesperbrück. La parte superior del Hespertalbahn siguió siendo un ferrocarril de vía estrecha.
