El castillo de Gutenfels es un castillo de espolón a 200 m de altura sobre NHN en un punto rocoso a 110 metros sobre la ciudad de Kaub, en el Patrimonio de la Humanidad de la UNESCO del Alto Valle del Rin Medio en Renania-Palatinado. Es un raro ejemplo bien conservado de la construcción de castillos de la época estaufer.
El castillo de Gutenfels fue construido como Castillo Kaub a partir de 1220, posiblemente por orden del imperio. Ya en 1252 fue sitiado sin éxito por Guillermo de Holanda. En 1277, los señores de Falkenstein transfirieron el castillo y la ciudad de Kaub en feudo al conde palatino. Hasta 1289, vendieron sus posesiones en y alrededor de Kaub, incluido el castillo, al conde palatino Ludwig.
