Kasteel Gutenfels is een sporkasteel op een 200 m hoogte boven NHN op een rotsachtige punt 110 meter boven de stad Kaub in het UNESCO-Werelderfgoed Boven-Middelijke Rijnvallei in Rheinland-Pfalz. Het is een zeldzaam goed bewaard voorbeeld van de staufische kasteelbouw.
Kasteel Gutenfels werd als Kasteel Kaub vanaf 1220 mogelijk nog in opdracht van het rijk gebouwd. Al in 1252 werd het tevergeefs belegerd door Willem van Holland. In 1277 droegen de heren van Falkenstein kasteel en stad Kaub in leen over aan de paltsgraaf. Tot 1289 verkochten zij hun bezittingen in en rond Kaub, inclusief het kasteel, aan paltsgraaf Ludwig.
