La Veltins-Eisarena es una pista de hielo artificial para los deportes de trineo, skeleton y bobsleigh y se encuentra en Winterberg. Es la cuarta pista de hielo más antigua del mundo después de las de Königssee, Oberhof e Innsbruck-Igls.
La pista de bobsleigh tiene una longitud total, incluyendo la salida, de 1609 metros y un total de 15 curvas. En el laberinto entre las curvas 12 y 13 se puede alcanzar una velocidad máxima de hasta 140 km/h. La superficie de hielo tiene aproximadamente 6500 metros cuadrados. La pendiente media es del 9,8 por ciento. En el punto más empinado alcanza el 15 por ciento. Las curvas tienen radios de 16 a 55 metros y una altura de entre 2,5 a 5 metros. Bajo el hielo hay aproximadamente 70 kilómetros de tuberías, a través de las cuales circulan 40 toneladas de amoníaco para enfriar la pista y mantener el hielo.
