El lago Neuhäuser es un lago residual de extracción a cielo abierto de aproximadamente 155 hectáreas, que se formó por inundación del antiguo yacimiento de Holzweißig-Oeste. El lago se encuentra en la región de los lagos de Sajonia, al sur del área de protección paisajística de Goitzsche y al norte de la ciudad de Delitzsch.
El lago Neuhäuser se sitúa en la frontera noroeste del estado libre de Sajonia con Sajonia-Anhalt, a una altitud de aproximadamente 78 m sobre el nivel del mar. Al sur del lago se encuentra Benndorf, un distrito de la ciudad del norte de Sajonia, Delitzsch, y al norte la comunidad unitaria de Sajonia-Anhalt, Bitterfeld-Wolfen. Se ubica en la región de los lagos de Sajonia, al sur del Gran lago Goitzsche y de las aguas del lago Ludwig y el lago Paupitz.
